Project Overview
The Iberdrola Broadsound 180MW/360MWh BESS project is a large-scale grid-connected battery energy storage facility located in Broadsound, Queensland, Australia. Developed and fully owned by global energy company Iberdrola, the project officially entered the grid-connected commissioning phase in April 2026, and is currently in the final stage of construction. It is designed to strengthen the stability of Queensland’s power grid, support the integration of renewable energy sources, and provide flexible energy storage and ancillary services for the local electricity market.
