Goyder Battery (Stage 2)

Project Overview

UGL (CIMIC Group) was appointed by Neoen and Tesla to construct Stage 2 of the Goyder Battery in South Australia. Stage 2 adds 227 MW / 907 MWh, identical to the ongoing Stage 1, lifting the project total to 454 MW / 1,814 MWh. UGL will carry out BoP works including civil, electrical and high-voltage infrastructure installation for Tesla Megablock, plus testing and commissioning. Located within Neoen’s Goyder Renewables Zone, Stage 2 construction is scheduled to start in August 2026 and reach commercial operation in 2028, providing long-duration storage to enhance grid stability and renewable energy transition in South Australia.
