Project Overview
The Swanbank Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a 250 MW / 500 MWh standalone grid-scale battery storage project located at the Swanbank Energy Precinct in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. Developed and owned by CleanCo Queensland, the project is the first major new energy asset delivered at the Swanbank precinct redevelopment site. Equipped with 138 Tesla Megapack 2XL battery modules and delivered with support from Yurika, the BESS reached full operational capability in 2026 and provides two-hour dispatchable capacity, peak demand support and grid reliability services through Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM).
