Project Overview

The Saudi SEC Phase III 2.5 GW Energy Storage Project is a large-scale grid-side battery energy storage cluster deployed across five major power regions in Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, Rabigh, Dawadmi, Jouf and Qassim. Supplied by NR Electric (NARI-Relays), the project completed grid-connected charging and discharging tests on May 27, 2026, and entered operation as the world’s largest grid-forming energy storage cluster, featuring more than 2,000 PCS units and advanced functions such as frequency regulation, dynamic voltage support, black start and weak-grid adaptability.
