Project Overview
The EDF Stary Grodków BESS Project is a 50 MW / 120 MWh standalone grid-scale battery energy storage system located in Stary Grodków, Opole Voivodeship, Poland. Developed by EDF Power Solutions Polska, the project was commissioned in May 2026 as EDF’s first large-scale BESS facility in Poland. The system includes 24 battery containers, a dedicated transformer substation, and a 110 kV grid connection, supporting grid flexibility and renewable energy integration under a 17-year capacity contract with Poland’s transmission system operator.
